Staff and students from the Social Justice Advocacy Group at St. Mary’s CBGS had an early 7am start on Tuesday 5th December as they braved the cold and damp weather conditions to raise awareness about the reality of homelessness in our society.
This event took place during Homelessness Awareness Week (4th – 10th December) – a week in which a number of events take place to challenge the stereotypes around homelessness as well as highlighting the work that takes place in the homelessness sector.
Statistics from the Department for Communities were displayed in addition to placards which encourage further action and advocacy in addressing the current homelessness crisis.
There was a strong show of support from those making their daily commute to work and school on the Glen Road.
