Notification regarding CCEA Controlled Assessment, coursework and other practical activities
Further to the CCEA communication to centres on 19th March 2020 regarding the summer examinations 2020, we advise you that students should do no further work on their Controlled Assessment, coursework and other practical activities.
The decision to cease internal elements have been made considering health protection, the requirements of the specifications and the levels of control required.
Where candidate authentication sheets have not been signed, you can accept candidate authentication by email. Should you be unable to secure the authentication at this time, we will work with you to get this at a later stage, if necessary. The candidate email should state that “the work produced and submitted for assessment is all my own work”.
We also appreciate that some candidates for particular subjects, for example Art and Design, may have pieces of work at home. We will provide further guidance at a subject level, as soon as possible, on how candidates can submit such work to teachers.
CCEA is currently considering subject specific advice to centres on how teachers should mark and annotate the work that students have completed to date. We appreciate that these assessments may be at different stages of completion. However, we must gather as much information from you as possible. We will provide further guidance on this matter as soon as possible.
We will provide further and regular updates and information, which may include requests for data or information from your centre. We will make every effort to provide reasonable timescales for information requests or changes to arrangements.
We fully appreciate the uncertainty that students and teachers are experiencing and recognise the need for clarity. We also appreciate the many challenges you currently face. CCEA thank you in anticipation of your continued support.

If students have specific queries about coursework they should contact their class teacher by email.
All coursework should now stop in line with CCEA guidance.
Students who have coursework at home should submit it by emailing your teacher or by uploading it to Google classroom by
Friday 27th March.
This will enable your teachers to complete marking.
Further guidance will be provided by CCEA on practical subjects and we will update you in due course.
