Re: Industrial Action
I have been advised that the INTO has called for its members to take strike action on the morning of Wednesday 18th January 2017. A significant number of teachers in St. Mary’s CBGS are likely to be following industrial action on that day.
For health and safety reasons I have decided that the following Year Groups will start school at 1.20 pm:
• Year 8
• Year 9
• Year 10
• Year 11
Years 12, 13 and 14 must attend school as normal, i.e. 9.00 am – 3.15 pm.
Lunches will only be available for Year 12, 13 and 14 students on the 18th.
The North Belfast bus will not operate in the morning, but will collect pupils from 12.45 pm.
The Black’s Road, Crumlin and North Belfast buses will operate as normal in the afternoon.
Open Night: Thursday 19th January
Classes will be dismissed on Thursday 19th January at 1.40 pm in order to allow us to prepare for our Open Night. The Black’s Road, Crumlin and North Belfast buses will arrive at the school at 1.50 pm.
The school will be closed on Friday 20th January for a staff training day/Year 10 Parent Teacher Meeting (10.00 am–12.00 noon)/Year 12 Parent Teacher Meeting (1.00–3.00 pm).
Classes will resume as normal on Monday 23rd January 2017.
