St Mary’s was proud to host the Road Safety Roadshow in conjunction with the PSNI and CoolFM yesterday.
440 visitors from St Genevieve’s, St Dominic’s and Hunterhouse Schools attended for the morning session and 450 from St Mary’s, All Saints, SERC and St Louise’s attended in the afternoon.
Ryan A from CoolFM compered the event, which included a competition for concert tickets! Pupils heard from all the emergency services what a road traffic collision with fatalities is actually like. Pupils were able to see a car that had been involved in a crash on its roof and speak with members of the Fire Service about how people have to be rescued from such a vehicle. Hopefully the sessions imparted the very important and pertinent message about being safe on our roads for all the young people present.
