SEAG Assessment 2025

15th October 2025

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Thank you for registering your child to take the Schools’ Entrance Assessment in St. Mary’s Christian Brothers’ Grammar School on Saturday 15th November 2025, and Saturday 22nd November 2025.

Please find enclosed four coloured Information Cards (two for use on Day 1 and two for Day 2). These cards provide you with key details regarding arrangements for the Entrance Assessment days. The cards contain the same information.

On each assessment day, your child must bring one Information Card with him/her and present it to a member of staff on arrival at the designated entrance. Entrances will be clearly signposted. It will not be possible for parents to enter the school beyond the designated entrances. Staff will ensure your child is taken to the assessment centre indicated on his/her card.

It is important that your child arrives between 9.30am and 9.50am. Children, who arrive after the Entrance Assessment has begun, will not be admitted to the assessment centre. There is no Supplementary Assessment available.

Your child should be picked up at 11.30am. Please bring the second Information Card as proof of identity when you collect your child.

Please take time to read the instructions on the Information Card. It is important that your child does not bring a mobile phone, iPod, MP3/4 Player, iWatch or any products with an Electronic Communication/ Storage Device or Digital Facility into the school on the assessment days. Do not bring a watch – there will be a clock in the assessment centre.

No food should be brought into the school on the assessment days. Your child does not need to bring anything relating to the assessment (e.g., pencils, erasers or paper), as everything will be provided by our school. Children should wear Primary school uniforms.

In an emergency, if you need to contact the school on the day of the assessment, please telephone the school office on 02890294000.

On 20th October 2025, we are holding a Familiarisation meeting from 4.00pm – 4.30pm in our Assembly Hall. This offers parents/guardians and children an opportunity for a ‘walk through’ of the arrangements for the Assessment days.

I wish you and your child every success in the Entrance Assessment and for the future.

Yours faithfully,

Brendan McComb

Principal
