{"id":628,"date":"2017-12-06T10:49:15","date_gmt":"2017-12-06T10:49:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/st.wibblehosting.com\/?p=628"},"modified":"2019-09-20T12:27:52","modified_gmt":"2019-09-20T11:27:52","slug":"parent-governor-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stmaryscbgs.com\/school-notices\/parent-governor-election\/","title":{"rendered":"Parent Governor Election"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dear Parent \/ Guardian<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We welcome nominations beginning on 4<sup>th<\/sup> December 2017 for the election of a Parent Governor to serve on the Board of Governors for the four-year period 2018-2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please contact the Principal\u2019s secretary for a nomination form. If you are nominating a parent your form must be returned to the school by <strong>4.00 pm<\/strong> on <strong>Monday 8<sup>th<\/sup> January 2018<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Parent Governor is elected by parents of pupils attending the school at the time of the election from amongst the parents of such pupils. The relevant legislation defines the term \u2018parent\u2019 as including a guardian and every person who has the actual custody of the pupil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An elected Parent Governor remains in office for the four year term even if they cease to be a parent of a child attending the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each eligible parent is entitled to nominate candidates, to vote and to stand for election. Participation is not restricted to one parent per family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only persons who are eligible to vote may propose and second nominations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The election of our Parent Governor will take place by secret ballot in the school Assembly Hall on <strong><em><strong>Friday 19<sup>th<\/sup> January 2018<\/strong><\/em><\/strong>.&nbsp; Voting times are as follows: <strong>9.30 am \u2013 11.30 am<\/strong> and <strong>1.15 pm \u2013 3.15 pm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"images\/1. Arrangements for the  Election of Parent Governor - Dec 2017.doc\">VIEW ELECTION DOCUMENT HERE<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ballot papers and information on the candidate(s) will be available at the meeting.
