To date, I have made decisions, along with the Board of Governors and senior staff, in the best interests of the school. Our aim has been to ensure the health and safety of the pupils and staff and wider communities.<\/p>\n<p>I was keen to support the Minister\u2019s request in relation to the availability of childcare facilities for key workers in this crisis. However, I have now completed a risk assessment, and this has indicated that due to several factors we are no longer able to provide childcare support for key workers.<\/p>\n<p>I am also well aware of the new, increased safety measures put in place late last night to minimise the risk of infection. Consequently, the school, will only be open on an ad hoc basis for key staff only. If you need to contact the school, please use the email addresses that were issued to you last week.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Remote Learning<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All teaching will be online and staff will be supporting your son\u2019s learning remotely. There are a number of remote learning help sheets on our school website under the \u2018News\u2019 section. I would encourage you to make use of these. If your son is having problems logging into his account and needs his password refreshed, do not phone the school as the school office is closed. The setting of new passwords is being managed remotely, if required, email the school\u2019s info account info@stmarys.belfast.ni.sch.uk<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Free School Meals (FSM)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is our understanding that arrangements are being put in place shortly for fortnightly direct payments to families. The school has no further information at this time.<\/p>\n<p>These are challenging times and we greatly value the work that everyone is doing to limit the long-term impact of this potentially devastating virus. Please keep your families safe at this time.
