A Level Success 2017

St Mary’s Christian Brothers’ Grammar School has had another highly successful A Level year, with pupils producing excellent examination results.

Fionntan Toner was the top performing student, achieving a remarkable three As and a B grade.  Outstanding results were also secured by David McNally (2 A*s and an A ) and Carl Keenan (A* and 2 As).

Carlos Quinterio-Anguita achieved an A grade in Spanish and a Triple Distinction Award in BTEC Level 3 Sport, the equivalent of three grade A passes at A Level.

A Triple Distinction Award in BTEC Level 3 Sport was also achieved by Tiarnan Murphy, Kieran Foster, Ryan Hughes, Gary Manson, Thomas McGreevy and Eoin McNally.

The school’s overall A Level performance was very strong, with St Mary’s students achieving a 100% pass rate at grades A* to C in Art & Design, Applied Business, BTEC Sport, Diploma in Finance, Drama, English, Irish, Further Maths, Music and Physics. Technology, Geography, Media and Politics were also very successful, with pass rates of over 90% at grades A*to C.

St Mary’s Principal, Mr. John Martin, expressed his pride in the success of the pupils and their teachers.  “These are extremely pleasing results and the school is delighted that our pupils’ hard work and commitment and the support of their parents has been rewarded. I am sure that our A Level pupils, who have contributed greatly to the life of the school community, will now go on to great success in their universities and employment”.
