The St. Mary’s basketball teams compete currently at schools "B" Level basketball in five categories; 1st year boys, 2nd year boys, 3rd year boys, U-16 Boys and U-19 Boys with over 60 players training and playing with the school teams. The school basketball jerseys are black for home matches and yellow for away matches.
Coding Club meet every Wednesday afterschool in H22 to develop games through the use of Scratch , Minecraft and Kodu.
Some of the pupils developed Android apps for open Night through the use of App Inventor with the assistance of Christopher O’Hagan (13C).
The creative writing club provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate their creative flair and develop their writing skills.
Students have the chance to experiment with a range of writing forms such as prose, poetry and script-writing. The club provides a positive and productive environment for any student wishing to explore and extend their creative writing abilities.
St. Mary's is affiliated to Heartstart - this is a British Heart Foundation initiative to teach the public what to do in a life-threatening emergency. Emergency life support is the set of actions needed to keep a person alive in an emergency until professional help arrives.
The KS3 STEM club has been established with the aim of encouraging the young person who wants to discover how things work and why things are the way that they are. The club meets each week in S13 for an hour after school where the experiments that we do are exciting, entertaining and educational.
