This week almost 70 Year 13 and Year 14 Business Studies, Financial Studies and Professional Business Services students attended a virtual PwC Inspirational Role Models event facilitated by School Employer Connections. The live talk was streamed into four classrooms in the Business Department.
Our students heard from three PwC student ambassadors who all spoke very positively about their experiences so far – two who are on the school leaver higher level apprenticeship programme and one who is completing the PwC/QUB Flying Start degree apprenticeship.
This was a great introduction for our Year 13s to the benefits of ‘earn while you learn’ apprenticeships. As some Year 14s are currently in the process of applying for these programmes, it was helpful for them to hear directly what working for PwC and completing an apprenticeship is really like.
We are very grateful to PwC and School Employer Connections for providing the opportunity for students to gain an insight into some of the different pathways available.
This is the second in a series of Inspirational Role Models talks. Last week a similar event delivered by Almac employees was streamed to Year 13 Science students, and next week Computer Science students will hear from Kainos.
